Directions
These directions should allow you to associate your add account and set up Facebook access
Step 1: Associate Your Ad Account with Your Business
- Visit Facebook Business Manager, https://business.facebook.com/
- Navigate to Business
- Settings > Accounts > Ad Accounts.
- Check if your ad account is listed.
- If your ad account is not in Business Manager, you need to add it:
- Go to Business Settings (https://business.facebook.com/settings/) in Business Manager.
- Click Accounts > Ad Accounts.
- Click Add and follow the prompts to add your ad account.
Step 2: Create a Facebook App & Generate Access Token
- Visit Facebook Developers (https://developers.facebook.com/) and log in with credentials that have access to Facebook Ads.
- Navigate to My Apps (https://developers.facebook.com/apps/) and click Create App.
- In the Business Portfolio section, select “I want to connect my business” and click Next.
- In the Use Cases section, select Other and click Next.
- In the App Type selection, choose Business and click Next.
- Provide an App Name and an Email Address for contact purposes, then click Create App.
- In the App Products section, click Set Up under Marketing API (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-apis/)
- Generate an Access Token with the required permissions:
- ads_management
- ads_read
- read_insights
- Capture the following details:
- Ad Account ID (from Business Manager, https://business.facebook.com/settings/ad-accounts/)
- Access Token (from Facebook Developer App, https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/)
- Share these details securely with the Bettrdata team.
Step 3: Accept Custom Audiences Terms
- Visit the Custom Audiences Terms (https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/customaudiences/tos.php) page.
- Accept the terms to enable custom audience creation.
Step 4: Find theAudience Id
For Custom Audiences in Meta Ads Manager (or Business Manager):
- Go to Audiences
- Navigate to Meta Audiences (or go via Meta Business Suite > Audiences).
- Locate Your Audience
- You’ll see a list of all your saved, custom, and lookalike audiences.
- Click the Audience Name
- Click on the name of the specific Custom Audience (or any audience) you want the ID for.
- Get the Audience ID
- After clicking, check the URL in your browser. It will look something like this:
- The part after
audience_id=is your Audience List ID.
